Hi
High Temperature Simulated Distillation (HTSD)
Triton Analytics Corporation is the world leader in Hydrocarbon Characterization by High Temperature SImulated Distillation (HTSD). This recently ASTM approved method (ASTM D-7169) extends ASTM D-2887 determination of the boiling range distribution of hydrocarbons to a final boiling point of >1350F. The use of capillary GC columns and stationary phase technology advances, together with programmed temperature vaporization (PTV), or on-column injection techniques, provides adequate separation from C5 to C120 normal paraffins allowing the characterization of petroleum products from 97F to 1380F.
Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis (DHA)
For the identification and quantification of light hydrocarbons in the C1-C13 range, DHA by ASTM D6729 is the premier method. Using state of the art, high resolution capillary gas chromatography and DRAGON DHA software by Envantage, makes this an invaluable technique for light hydrocarbon samples. Triton has the unique ability to pair this technique with our NOISE analysis and fully identifiy specialized process streams.
Exact Structure Determination (NOISE)
Nitric Oxide Ionization Spectrometry Evaluation (NOISE) finds exact components of process streams. This benchmark technique gives carbon number and Z-number saturation. This hydrocarbon typing can help:
Optimize hydrotreaters
direct incoming streams
make the most of new crude slates
evaluate unit performance
identify oil spills
Vapor Pressure by Headspace Gas Chromatography (VAPOR)
For applications where Reid Vapor Pressure is not sufficient, Triton Analytics has developed a sensitive and accurate method of quantifying Vapor Pressure by carbon number using Headspace Gas Chromatography. This method’s reliablilty is accepted for tank certification by the California Air Resources Board.
Complete Crude Assay Characterization
Triton Analytics has capability and experience in complete Crude Assay Characterization. Following proprietary Equilibrium Flash Vaporization, narrow boiling range cuts are analyzed by HTSD and for properties such as sulfur, nitrogen, Microcarbon Residue, density, viscosity and Nickel/Vanadium. Data from all analyses are presented in a comprehensive format to facilitate engineering and modeling .
