Why Crude Assay Characterization from Triton?
Comprehensive characterization of a prospective crude feed is vital to maximizing its value and a requisite for successful refinery planning and LP optimization. Triton employs a proprietary Equilibrium Flash Vaporizer (EFV) to produce narrow range cuts from 800oF up to the cracking range of the crude. The fractions, along with the feedstock and produced residue, are rigorously analyzed for specified physical and chemical properties. This process facilitates the detailed understanding of Cat Feed properties as a function of boiling point. HTSD is employed to verify the yield curves and monitor cracking of the physically distilled fractions. Complete mass balance is determined with typical results of 100 ± 0.3%, mass.
Triton’s expertise in HTSD produces data which provides excellent agreement between backblending calculations and operational vacuum tower yields. Process Consulting Services, a leader in providing process engineering for refinery revamps projects, has utilized Triton Analytics to provide analytical data for over twenty successful vacuum tower revamps.
